Many people have been sending me emails asking me, "Why is water good for your skin?"

Well, to begin, water makes up about 70% of your body weight, so drinking it is definitely essential for regular bodily functions.

To soon go into specifics, your skin will receive the following benefits when you drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. If you're an athlete or you workout a lot, I recommend drinking more.

Drinking water releases toxins!

  • Acne is an internal problem.
  • Many people mistake it for an external, "I'm not clean problem." However, this 98% untrue.

Horomones and toxic buildup, which can sometimes be diet related, have a lot to do with your complexion. When you drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, you're performing a body cleanse, or detoxification. You're releasing the nasty buildup of toxins while you go to the bathroom, or while you sweat during a workout.

If you don't drink water, these toxins usually release through your skin, which commonly causes acne breakouts.

Drinking Water builds Skin Elasticity

People commonly have acne and dry skin problems because they're often so dang dehydrated. Drinking water will hydrate not only your body, but externally, your skin. This prevents skin irritations which often lead to acne problems, among other problems as well.

A healthier Digestive System

Finally, water leads to a healthier digestive system. It flushes your body of toxic buildup, and allows you to go to the restroom more throughout the day. This is good for healthy bodily functions, and can definitely help improve your skin, and your acne problem.

Overall Recommendation

Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Feel free to drink 12 - 15 if you're really up for a challenge. I've heard that this amount of water will actually do your skin far better than the 8 glasses of water.

After taking all of this information in, remember that consistency is KEY to CLEAR and Beautiful Skin. Just like the person who works out every day to try to lose weight, you'll need to consistently drink water to try to clear your skin.

I hope this little article above taught you a little bit more about why water is good for your skin.
