Greasy Hair = Acne Breakouts?

I just got an email; Someone was wondering about greasy hair and whether or not it can cause acne breakouts. I figured that I would go ahead and write an article about the topic before I went to bed.

I'm going to go ahead and cut to the chase. When it comes down to it, greasy hair can definitely cause your acne to worsen.

How can this happen?

  1. Your pillow touches your hair and then your face.
  2. Your hair is constantly in your face throughout the day.

Why does hair contact to face cause acne problems?

  1. Irritation
  2. Oil build-up

Not only will greasy hair worsen your acne, however. In fact, when any hair type comes into contact with your face, whether that contact is directly, or indirectly, this contact can not only cause irritation, but extra oils to build up on your face. This can cause extra acne problems, and at the least, definitely make them worse.

Acne Teen Recommendation!

  1. Wash your pillow case once a week.
  2. Take showers after your workouts.
  3. Use a good shampoo and conditioner.
  4. Cut your hair, or put it up, or back.
  5. Finally, be sure to use a good face wash!

When it comes down to it, you have plenty of options available to you. Hopefully, some of the options that I listed above will help you prevent future breakouts from occurring.

Remember, greasy hair isn't the only reason for acne breakouts. Hair in general, can cause the same kinds of problems.
