People think that greasy foods can cause acne. They are told to avoid having food like hamburgers, pizza, or chocolate. Did you know that the food you eat only irritates your acne but doesn't cause it. I know, that's really shocking isn't it?

What really causes acne?

What causes acne problems are hormones that happen during puberty and throughout different times in your adulthood. Those hormones make your glands create a sebum and after that happens, it gets clogged. That is what causes blackheads, pimples and whiteheads.

Diet - Not linked to acne, but plays a vital role!

While diet has not been linked to the cause of acne, it can still play a very important role with how healthy your skin is and how clean it stays.

  • Having Vitamin D and reducing the amount of chocolate is not only good for your skin but for your weight.

Many people pig out once they think that it's fine for them to eat chocolate, and they end up getting a lot of blackheads. Like I said, eating poorly won't cause acne but eating greasy food items plus chocolate and can worsen your complexion problems.

  • Having one chocolate bar a week won't hurt you much but having one everyday might cause a lot of problems that go even beyond acne.

If you are stressed out while eating a lot of greasy food items, it can cause a outbreak but it is not because of the food.

Hormones are imbalanced and when you add stress on top of imbalanced hormones, you can create a string of unhealthy things. Reducing stress in your life is something that you should work on if you know it's a problem.

You don't have to stop having greasy foods but it will help if you reduce what you have. Just because they are not the cause for acne, they still have ingredients in them that are bad and might create major problems with your health.
