People taking Accutane to cure acne might not have known that it could lead to serious problems and side effects. And yes, hair loss is one of those side effects.
It has now known that Accutane has caused suicide problems along with other health related issues.
Because of this, major lawsuits are being filed.
So far, the FDA has said that there is at least 167 cases that have been confirmed that have been related to people who have been on Accutane.
Other cases show that over 200 people killed themselves when they where on Accutane.
17-year-old Tragedy
You may be fine before taking accutane, but once you start taking the substance, it may change you, as Representative Bark Stupak found out.
His son, only 17 years old, killed himself while on Accutane. His acne was really bad and he was hoping that Accutane would help him but instead it made him very depressed.
He killed himself on Mother's Day by a gunshot that was self-inflicted. The boy's family thought that Accutane may only cause a bloody nose and possibly dry skin, but they did not know it would lead into serious depression.
Be careful with Accutane!
If you are on this medicine and have been suffering from depression or other side effects, you should talk with your doctor and discontinue use. There are other things out there that you can try that won't give you such horrible problems.
